A man was sentenced to 16 years behind bars for the murder of his concubine. The Strășeni Court decided that he will serve his sentence in a closed prison, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, it happened on February 7 this year in Căpriana village of Strășeni district. The man, being under the influence of alcohol, went to the home of a villager, where his concubine was at that moment and stabbed her with a knife for several times. As a result of her injuries, the woman died.
Her son told investigators that his mother was often mistreated by the defendant. The latter didn’t admit his guilt.
Pre-trial detention for the defendant was maintained by the court until the sentence came into force.
