Two women and a man died in a road accident close to the Romanian locality Foltesti in Galati County. A car collided with a truck. Both of the vehicles were registered in the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
Libertatea.ro said the tragedy occurred on the DN 26 road close to Foltești. A truck traveling from Foltești to Oancea collided with a car coming from the opposite direction.
Following the violent impact, a passenger of the car was thrown onto the road and died on the spot. Two other people remained trapped inside the crushed car. Witnesses called the single emergency number 112, and traffic policemen, firefighters from the Galati Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and a SMURD helicopter went to the scene of the accident.
The two victims taken by firefighters out of the crumpled car could not be saved. The traffic police started a criminal case for manslaughter and continue the investigations to establish the circumstances in which the accident occurred.
