The National Army received a consignment of protection equipment and light infantry weapons from the U.S. Government. In the handover ceremony held at Military Camp No.142, Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatyi said the agreement on the delivery of this assistance was signed in 2019 and is designed to support Moldova’s efforts to reform and modernize the national defense capabilities in accordance with the international standards. The given lot supplements the multilateral assistance provided during the over 30 years of Moldovan-American cooperation and will contribute to ensuring better training conditions for the military personnel at exercises, training sessions and peacekeeping missions.

Attending the event, congressman Doug Lamborn, of the Armed Services Subcommittee of the Chamber of Representatives, said the U.S. has constantly offered assistance to Moldova in the defense sector.
