Israel simultaneously attacks Yemen, Lebanon, Syria and Gaza

The Israeli army staged new airstrikes on Yemen, Lebanon, Syria and Gaza the same day. Local media reported that at least 54 people died as a result of the air raids on Gaza, IPN reports.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Gaza’s more than 2 million people will be “moved” in a new ground offensive as Israel’s total blockade on the enclave reaches 65 days, Al Jazeera reported.

In a statement, the Israeli military said that the strikes on the rebels in Yemen “were carried out in response to the repeated missile and drone attacks of the Houthi terrorist regime against the state of Israel”. The terrorist infrastructure hit in Houthi-held Hodeida port is used for the transfer of Iranian weapons and military equipment. The army also hit a cement factory eastward the city, which it described as an “important economic resource for the Houthis”.

The Houthi rebels are part of Iran’s “axis of resistance” against Israel and the United States of America. They say they are acting in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza after fighting between the Israeli army and Hamas in Gaza intensified on October 7, 2023.

The Israeli military relaunched attacks in Gaza on March 18 after a two-month hiatus.
