The Republic of Moldova will celebrate its National Day on August 31 at the World Expo in Osaka, an event dedicated to promoting the country’s culture, traditions, and achievements on a global scale. The announcement was made by Daniel Voda, the Government’s spokesperson, who emphasized that the national pavilion of the Republic of Moldova has already attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world, reports IPN.
“On August 31, on the Day of the Romanian Language, we will also mark the Day of the Republic of Moldova in Osaka – an event dedicated to promoting the image of our country in the Land of the Rising Sun, with the involvement of the diaspora and our partners from Japan,” declared the spokesperson.
As part of Moldova’s participation in the exhibition, special events, business meetings, and initiatives aimed at building bridges of cooperation with international partners will be organized over the course of six months. The main event during the exhibition is Moldova’s National Day, held with the aim of highlighting the country’s culture, traditions, and economic potential.
In 2024, Japan ranked 20th in the list of Moldova’s trade partners, accounting for nearly 1% of the country’s total trade value.
The exhibition, under the theme “Designing the Society of the Future for Our Lives”, runs until October 13 and brings together ideas, projects, and delegations from over 150 countries.
The Republic of Moldova previously participated in the World Exhibition in Dubai, in 2021, being recognized for the best pavilion logo and the most welcoming pavilion.
