The government will allocate, in the coming years, 3 billion lei for the funding of 87 regional development projects, approved by the National Council for Regional and Local Development Coordination, reports IPN.
Announcing the results of the project selection call, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea stated that these 87 initiatives will not only benefit the localities in which they will be implemented. Having a regional impact, they will contribute to improving the quality of life for thousands of citizens.
Mayoral offices and regional councils across the country have submitted a total of 205 projects. Out of the 87 initiatives selected for funding, the majority – 47 – aim to ensure access to drinking water and sewage services. Another 19 projects seek to enhance the country’s touristic appeal, while 15 propose measures for urban revitalization and modernization of public spaces. In addition, 6 local authorities will benefit from investments for business infrastructure development.
In the autonomous region of Gagauzia, the cities of Comrat, Ceadir-Lunga, and Vulcanesti will benefit from modernized water infrastructure, revitalized public spaces, and improved economic infrastructure.
The projects will be funded through the National Fund for Regional and Local Development.
