A delegation of Austrian parliamentarians is on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova, from May 25-27, for discussions on strengthening bilateral relations and parliamentary cooperation. The officials will have meetings with the country’s leadership and will visit several projects funded by Austria, reports IPN.

The visit’s agenda includes meetings with President Maia Sandu, Parliament President Igor Grosu, as well as with Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

At the Parliament, Austrian officials will participate in discussions with the Vice President of the legislature and the Chairwoman of the Foreign Policy Committee, Doina Gherman, with the Chairman of the European Integration Committee, Marcel Spatari, and with members of the two parliamentary committees, after which they will hold a press conference.

According to a statement issued by the Parliament, the discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relations between the Republic of Moldova and Austria, with an emphasis on the development of parliamentary cooperation and on the projects implemented in our country with the support of Austria.

During their visit, the Austrian parliamentarians will also go to the Straseni district, where they will inspect several projects carried out with the support of the Austrian Development Agency, in partnership with the European Union. The delegation will participate in the inauguration of the wastewater treatment plant in Galesti and will visit the water supply projects in the village of Capriana and at the “Dormition of the Mother of God” Monastery.

The program also includes visits to the “Stefan Neaga” Center of Excellence in Artistic Education and the Austrian School in Chisinau.
