The standard diesel price will increase by 18 bani on Wednesday, reaching 35.15 lei per liter, the highest price recorded so far. According to the National Agency for Energy Regulation, the price of 95 octane gasoline will increase by 9 bani and will cost at most 33.35 lei per liter, reports IPN.
ANRE explains the new increases due to the intensification of tensions in the Middle East and the rise of risks regarding global petroleum product supply. In recent days, the Platts quote for a ton of diesel exceeded 1,570 dollars, and that for gasoline surpassed 1,360 dollars.
The Authority specifies that the petroleum product stocks in the Republic of Moldova are sufficient for current consumption and are constantly monitored. At the same time, the market remains exposed to regional and international developments that can affect supply chains.
On international markets, the price of oil continues to rise. Brent Crude has reached 107.55 dollars per barrel, an increase of 1.77%, while American oil WTI has reached 103.30 dollars, 1.88% higher.
