The parliamentary fraction of the Action and Solidarity Party proposes Vasile Tofan for the position of Prime Minister. The announcement was made by the PAS leader, Igor Grosu, the Speaker of the Parliament, who specified that this candidacy will be presented during the consultations with President Maia Sandu, reports IPN.

According to Igor Grosu, the decision was made after several hours of discussions about the vision and governance program proposed by the candidate. “I am pleased that we share the same fundamental objectives and values – joining the European Union in the coming years, cleaning up institutions, economic growth, as well as implementing essential reforms started during this period,” declared the PAS leader.

According to him, Vasile Tofan has solid experience in the business environment, investments, and management, accumulated both in the Republic of Moldova and internationally. Igor Grosu also said that Vasile Tofan contributed to the development of important companies and attracting investments that generated jobs and supported the country’s economy.

“It’s a great honor, but I also recognize the gravity of the moment. People’s expectations are high, we have a lot of work to do. The number one goal will be integration into the EU,” mentioned Vasile Tofan.

President Maia Sandu’s consultations with the PAS faction are scheduled for Saturday. On Friday, opposition formations were invited to the discussions, but they boycotted the consultations.
