The road from Dealul Balanesti, the highest point in Moldova, will be paved and a bicycle lane will also be arranged. The Central Regional Development Agency announced the tender for the execution of the works, with offers to be submitted between January 19-29, reports IPN.
The auction targets 2.7 km of road, with an estimated investment of 17.7 million lei. A park of about 0.5 ha will be created in the area, with parking space, modern urban furniture and relaxation areas – “a place where people can enjoy clean air, tranquility and all the beauty of nature”, mentioned the mayor of Balanesti village, Mihail Luchian.
“This is a historic step for our commune. A dreamt, worked and defended project, which from today begins to become reality,” the mayor wrote on Facebook.
Balanesti Hill stands at 430 meters above sea level. The place is known not only for its altitude, but also for its picturesque landscapes and hiking trails that attract visitors passionate about trekking.
