Economic agents from the Transnistrian region export 71% of total commercial activities to the EU market. The main destinations are Romania, Poland and Italy, reports IPN.
According to the Bureau of Reintegration Policy, last year 3,894 certificates of origin for goods were issued for economic agents on the left bank of the Dniester, of which 2,099 confirmed the preferential origin of goods in trade with member states of the European Union.
At the same time, both the dynamics of exports and imports decreased compared to previous years. In 2025, there were 12% fewer exports than in 2023, and imports from the EU were 48%, 6% less than two years ago.
According to the Bureau of Political Reintegration, the conduct of commercial transactions through control points and the use of national permissive documents have contributed to the economic reintegration of the Transnistrian region over the past four years. The adaptation of logistic chains has led to the reorientation of trade from the region towards the EU market, strengthening the economic ties between the two banks of the Dniester and facilitating the uniform application of trade rules throughout the territory of the Republic of Moldova, notes the BPR.
