A four-year-old girl from Bahmut village of Călărași district was looked for throughout last night after she went missing on Monday afternoon. On Tuesday morning, the General Police Inspectorate announced that the girl was found dead in a drainage channel in Cornești village, at a distance of about 4 km from her home, IPN reports.
The Inspectorate said the child left home at about 1pm and the police were notified at about 6pm. The police have immediately launched searches, being helped by volunteers.
Additional forces of subdivisions of the General Police Inspectorate, search and rescue dogs and drones were involved in the search effort, with groups of volunteers and locals offering assistance.
