The Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alain Berset will pay his first official visit to the Republic of Moldova on February12-13. While in Chisinau, the European official will have meetings with President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, as well as with representatives of civil society and the judiciary, IPN reports.
The Council of Europe Office in Chisinau said that the discussions will focus on key priorities, including human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
In connection with the visit, the Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova (2025-2028) is to be launched on February 12.
