A serious accident occurred on the Chisinau-Ungheni road. A car collided head-on with a truck after the driver veered into the opposite lane. The man passed away at the hospital shortly after the impact, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the 68-year-old driver of a Mitsubishi vehicle entered the oncoming traffic lane and crashed head-on into a truck driven by a 65-year-old man.
As a result of the collision, the Mitsubishi driver was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward. Meanwhile, the truck driver was tested with a Drager device, and the alcohol test result was negative.
A criminal investigation has been launched to determine all the circumstances of the accident.
