Land border duty free shops will be allowed to operate until 3 September 2023, and the duty-free outlet within the Chisinau International Airport will have to shut down no later than 22 December 2022, under a draft amendment endorsed by the Government today.
The amendment proposes disallowing duty-free shops anywhere in Moldova, with the existing ones to operate until the expiry of their current licenses.
The measure amends the Customs Code and the Tax Code with the purpose of promoting fiscal equity.
