An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter scale occurred in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. According to the local press, several schools were preemptively evacuated, and train traffic was temporarily halted on multiple routes, reports IPN.
The first wave of the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.3 and was quickly followed by another, with a magnitude of 4.1. No damages have been reported, for now.
The Italian authorities have suspended train travel in Emilia-Romagna and ordered technical inspections of the lines. The checks have particularly targeted the Bologna-Rimini, Ferrara-Rimini, Castel Bolognese-Ravenna, and Faenza-Ravenna lines.
Firefighters were mobilized on the city streets to carry out checks, to determine whether the ornaments of the historic buildings were affected by the earthquake and if there is a risk of them detaching.
