A man from Chisinau municipality was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the murder of his concubine, whose body he hid in a well in his yard. The murder took place in particularly serious conditions, following a conflict that broke out amid excessive alcohol use, IPN reports.
According to the evidence administered by the prosecutors, the defendant physically assaulted the woman, hitting her for multiple times. To hide the traces of the crime, the man threw her body into a well in the yard.
Although during the trial the defendant did not admit his guilt, the evidence showed the opposite. The testimonies of witnesses, the results of the forensic examination and the polygraph test confirmed his blame.
The prosecutor’s office underlined the seriousness of the case and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to combating violence, regardless of its form. At the same time, the authorities draw attention to the danger posed by abusive alcohol use, which favors violent and criminal behavior.
