The Moldovans with residence in Qatar can exchange the driver’s licenses without taking the additional exam. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration as a result of diplomatic correspondence with the authorities of Qatar, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry, this was possible because both of the sides are parties to the Convention on Road Traffic. The subject was also raised during the visit paid by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița to Doha during June 11 – 13.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Moldova, and the national responsible authorities continue to make effort to facilitate the exchange of driver’s licenses issued in the Republic of Moldova in the countries of residence of the diaspora,” the Ministry posed on a social networking site.
In June, the Republic of Moldova and Qatar signed two bilateral agreements on the abolition of short-stay visas for holders of ordinary passports and an agreement on economic and technical-scientific cooperation in agriculture.
