Octavian Țîcu categorically rejects AUR’s proposal to form a unionist electoral bloc. According to the leader of the National Unity Party (PUN), the people from his party will not accept to be associated with a party that in Romania manifested itself as an anti-vaccine, anti-mask, anti-NATO and anti-EU party.
“The unionist platform of the National Unity Party has been so far joined by over 20 remarkable personalities. The first 20 on our list include seven doctors and doctors habilitate, doctors, professors, people from the intellectual sphere. To what alliance shall I now take all these people to? This proposal is half a year overdue. If AUR really had had unionist ideas in the Republic of Moldova, before launching its franchise here it should have come and discussed with the most important unionist force, PUN,” Octavian Țîcu stated in the talk show “Fourth Power” on N4 TV channel.
Octavian Țîcu said the PUN will compete individually in the July elections and he is sure that the party will enter the future Parliament.
“PUN runs by itself in elections with the unionist platform. That’s final. Things can no longer be changed. I would better return to teach at the university than to enter Parliament together with AUR. We will file the lists to the CEC at 11am and the citizens of the Republic of Moldova with Romanian, European and Euro-Atlantic views will have a very nice voting option,” noted Octavian Țîcu.
AUR formed an electoral bloc for competing in the upcoming snap parliamentary elections. This includes the Liberal Party, the Save Bessarabian Union and the Romanian People’s Party.
