The National Anticorruption Center on Thursday morning conducted over 20 searches at the Balti Internal Customs Post as part of cases of corruption.
Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the National Anticorruption Center Ina Voloshchuk said the searches cover employees of the Balti Internal Customs Post, customs brokers and business entities. “It is probed the involvement of these into schemes of systemic corruption when issuing documents related to customs clearance for imported goods,” stated the press officer.
Tatiana Shompol, press officer of the Customs Service, confirmed the information, noting that the Integrity and Supervision Division of the Customs Service offers assistance in the relevant actions. The responsible institutions will inform about the results of searches. “The administration of the Customs Service vehemently condemns and does not tolerate acts of corruption in the institution,” said Tatiana Shompol.
