The European Union has approved the 19th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, in response to its military invasion of Ukraine. The new measures include, among other things, the ban on importing liquefied natural gas originating from Russia, reports IPN.
The High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union, Kaja Kallas, stated that the new sanctions package targets, in addition to liquefied natural gas, cryptocurrency exchanges, entities from India and China, as well as Russian banks, but also from Kazakhstan and Belarus.
At the same time, the new measures restrict the movements of Russian diplomats to counteract destabilization attempts and target an additional 117 ships from Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet”. Thus, the total number of sanctioned ships reaches 558.
