Over 48 million lei from the budget allocated for subsidized medicines were allocated in June for the treatment of circulatory system diseases. This is the largest volume of funding granted for a single group of diseases, with nearly 119 000 beneficiaries, reports IPN referring to data from the National Health Insurance Company.
The average cost of reimbursed drugs per beneficiary was 621 lei. The most expensive treatments were recorded for skin diseases and subcutaneous tissue disorders, with the average cost per patient exceeding 1 216 lei.
In total, over 168 000 patients have received subsidized medications and devices, prescribed through the automated information system ePrescription.
For all the compensated treatments in June, the CNAM transferred over 104 million lei to contracted pharmacies, almost 15 million lei more than in the same period last year.
The reimbursed medical devices have reached approximately 23,000 patients, and the payments have exceeded the amount of 6.5 million lei. In total, in June, over 285 000 prescriptions were filled in 1 665 pharmacies.
Electronic prescriptions can be issued by any doctor, including those within community care or emergency services. Patients can obtain medicines or devices from pharmacies only with an identity card.
