The working visit agenda also includes discussions with representatives of the State Department, as well as the White House – Andy Baker, Deputy National Security Advisor, and Charles McLaughlin, Senior Director for Europe and Russia, reports IPN.
In Washington, the President of the Parliament has scheduled meetings with several members of the Senate and the House of Representatives. The discussions will focus on strengthening the strategic partnership with the United States, deepening political dialogue and expanding cooperation in the fields of security, economy and democracy.
Igor Grosu will also meet with Moldovans living in Washington, Chicago, and the state of North Carolina, with whom he will discuss the current situation in the Republic of Moldova.
At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentions that Mihai Popsoi will participate in the public event “Moldova’s Euro-Atlantic Path: Regional Security, Energy Opportunities and Democratic Resilience”, where he will have several meetings with representatives of analytical centers.
Also, during the period of December 7-8, the Deputy Prime Minister will be in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he will meet with Governor Josh Stein, Secretary of State Elaine Marshall, and will discuss with Moldovan citizens settled in the region.
