The state fines Lukoil-Moldova with 5% of the turnover

The Council for the Examination of Investments of Importance to State Security has fined Lukoil-Moldova company for non-compliance with a previous decision, setting a penalty of 5% of the company’s turnover. At the same time, the company was given a five-day deadline to comply, reports IPN.

The Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, stated that the decision was made after Lukoil-Moldova did not comply with the Council’s resolution from December 14, 2025, which gave the company 20 days to return to the legal situation prior to 2005 and to hand over the infrastructure of the oil complex at the Chisinau International Airport to the state.

According to the minister, on January 14, the state institutions received an official refusal from Lukoil-Moldova to sign the act of transmission-reception of the goods related to the oil complex, the company citing the lack of approval from the sole associate, Lukoil International GmbH.

Given the fact that the established deadlines have been exceeded and the Council’s decision was not respected, the authorities announce that they will gradually apply the measures provided by the law regarding investments of importance for the state’s security. In the first stage, Lukoil-Moldova is obliged to pay the fine and comply with the previous decision within an additional five-day period.

The Ministry of Energy clarifies that, despite the situation created, Chisinau International Airport continues to operate normally, ensuring ground service for vessels and uninterrupted fuel supply, so that passenger services are not affected.
