Military observers of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces will verify on the ground the information on the reduction of the number of posts installed in the Security Zone. The information was confirmed by the Reintegration Policy Office after the meeting of the Unified Control Commission, IPN reports.
The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova, for several years, has been advocating the removal from the perimeter of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces of all unauthorized posts and any other installations that block freedom of movement in the Security Zone.
The removal of these posts is one of the conditions imposed by Chisinau on Tiraspol in exchange for gas transit to the region. At the time, Prime Minister Dorin Recean mentioned that Tiraspol would take several actions to demonstrate openness: release of political prisoners, solving the problem of the high school in Ribnitsa, keeping Moldovan public television in the grid, removal of the checkpoints installed in 2022 (33, 11 of which are still active).
