Over 1,500 teaching positions in kindergartens and schools have been put up for competition. The Ministry of Education and Research has launched registrations for the first stage of the competition, intended exclusively for rookie teaching staff. The deadline for submitting applications is June 22, as reported by IPN.
According to the General Secretary at the Ministry of National Education, Galina Rusu, the majority of vacant positions are for pre-school educator, math teacher, Romanian language and literature teacher, physics teacher, primary school teacher and others. The number of vacant positions in 2025 is lower than the one announced in the five allocation rounds of 2024, when there were over 2000 vacant teaching positions.
The competition is open for public education institutions in the country. Young people up to 35 years old, who are new in the pedagogical field, have the right to participate in the competition. They must be graduates of education programs, but also graduates of undergraduate programs in education or graduates of programs related to a school subject. Students who have been active during their studies can also apply.
The application deadline is June 22, when the first stage of the competition will end, which is also the most important, as it will involve over 1200 graduates from education and educational sciences programs.
Each candidate can apply for one or more vacant positions, and the selection and allocation will be made through an order from the Ministry of Education and Research on July 1st. The competition will be launched whenever necessary, meaning that other phases will also be launched. Galina Rusu encourages all eligible individuals to apply by completing a form that can be accessed by scanning a QR code, which will be placed on the Ministry of Education and Research’s webpage.
According to the Minister of Education, Dan Perciun, it is a priority for the MEC (Ministry of Education and Research) to attract young specialists in the field of education. In this regard, over the past two years, the government has doubled the teaching scholarships and increased the allowance for young specialists. He assures that the MEC will stand by graduates and provide all the necessary support, as they are needed in schools in Moldova.
