Property tax will be updated. “Authorities will set the fees more precisely”, says the minister

The property tax will be updated, and as a result, local authorities will be able to more accurately and fairly determine the value of the fees. The statement was made by the Minister of Finance, Andrian Gavrilita, during the conference that preceded today’s Government meeting, reports IPN.

Andrian Gavrilita referred to the new document for updating the methodologies for real estate tax collection. The project is in the process of being developed and is set to be made public in the upcoming period, announced the minister.

“In many cases, we have undelimited or unevaluated lands and properties, which makes it difficult for town halls to collect what they believe they deserve. For this reason, it is necessary to update the legal framework”, explained the finance minister.

Andrian Gavrilita stated that based on the updates made and stemming from a transparent reality, local authorities will be able to determine the coefficients and sizes of taxes themselves.
