Moldovan greco-Roman wrestler Alexandrin Guțu became European U23 champion. In the final of the 77 kg weight class, he defeated Azerbaijan’s Khasay Hasanli, IPN reports.
Alexandrin Guțu also beat Michal Zelenka of the Czech Republic, Kvvicha Ananidze of Georgia and Germany’s Deni Nakaev. This year, the pupil of Roman Zgardan and Mihai Cucul also climbed on to the winner’s rostrum at the seniors tournaments in Croatia and Egypt.
At the 2023 European U23 Championships held in Bucharest, Moldova’s Vitalie Yeryomenko won bronze in the 63 kg weight class after defeating Ukrainian wrestler Andrii Semenchuk in the last fight.
