Nearly 81,000 voting-eligible citizens voted for candidates for the office of President of Romania at the 59 polling stations established in the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
According to data from the Permanent Electoral Authority, a total of over 821,000 Romanians voted at the 950 polling stations established abroad. In Romania, 9.465 million electors voted, which is 52.55% of the voters put the permanent voter rolls.
The provisional results posted on the Authority’s website show that out of the 14 candidates, independent candidate Calin Georgescu ranks first with 2,117,755 votes (22.94%). The USR candidate Elena Lasconi is in second place with 20,045 minutes (99.93%) out of the 20,059 counted. She thus outstripped the PSD candidate Marcel Ciolacu.
