The works to make buildings energy efficient will reduce energy bills and increase comfort in homes. They will also contribute to the economic growth of the Republic of Moldova. It is estimated that the building energy efficiency services market in Moldova can attract investments of €1 billion in the coming years, Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov stated at the International Investor Connect Forum on Innovative Solutions for Scaling-up Energy Efficiency in Buildings, IPN reports.
Victor Parlicov noted that the market for energy efficiency services intended for residential and public buildings will attract investments to the national economy, generating turnovers for construction companies, new jobs, taxes.
The minister invited companies operating in the field to come to the Republic of Moldova to take advantage of the new opportunities, which will make it easier to enter Ukraine’s market when this country’s reconstruction will start.
The forum was organized by the Ministry of Energy, in partnership with the National Center for Sustainable Energy. During the event, the Residential Energy Efficiency Fund was officially launched. This will finance the rehabilitation of over half a million square meters of housing in the next three years.
