Romania will continue to strongly support the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union and to provide the necessary support in the negotiation process, the President of the Romanian Senate Nicolae Ciucă assured in a meeting with Prime Minister Dorin Recean, IPN reports.
The two officials discussed the cooperation between the official Chisinau and the official Bucharest in areas of strategic interest and modernization projects carried out in the Republic of Moldova with the support of the Romanian side.
Dorin Recean expressed his gratitude for the fact that Romania remains a strong supporter of the European path of the Republic of Moldova, and the joint projects bring concrete benefits to the citizens on both banks of the Prut.
“We are building together a new bridge over the Prut. We are interconnected in the energy sector to ensure the energy security and independence of the Republic of Moldova. We are providing school buses for students and are supporting the restoration of heritage monuments. These initiatives are just a part of our joint efforts through which we accelerate our European integration,” stated Dorin Recean, quoted in a press release.
