The oncosurgery department of the Cancer Institute has received modern equipment worth $97,000. Defibrillators, surgical lighting, an anesthetic machine, a medical aspirator, and an operating table are some of the donated equipment, the Ministry of Health announced in a press release.
The donation has been made by the UNFPA, following a comprehensive analysis of the urgent needs of the Institute, as part of the response to the humanitarian crisis, with the financial support of the US Government. According to UNFPA Moldova, this donation will contribute to reducing the waiting time for surgical interventions by more than 50%.
