A commercial lot of chemical and hygiene products, concealed in a truck, was discovered by authorities at the Cahul customs post. The incident was documented on the inbound route into the country, IPN reports.
The truck, traveling from Romania and transporting goods for an economic agent, was subjected to inspections. During the control, hygiene products and household chemicals in commercial quantities were found hidden within the cab and specially adapted spaces of the truck.
The undeclared goods amounted to approximately 1,400 units, with volumes of 500 ml, 700 ml, and 750 ml. The exact value of the undeclared goods is yet to be determined.
The driver, a 44-year-old Moldovan citizen, is being investigated by law enforcement. The goods have been seized and are subject to confiscation, while the individual faces potential administrative penalties.
