Sergiu Gaibu stepped down as minister of economy, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița announced on Wednesday. MP Dumitru Alaiba will occupy the vacated post, IPN reports.
“He (Dumitru Alaiba) will focus on such priorities as easing of services for entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial activities, communication with entrepreneurs in this period so as to see how the compensation mechanisms work, such as subsiding for technical unemployment or reduction of working hours and, evidently, communication with the public on economic issues,” stated Premier Gavrilița.
The official noted that secretary of state Rodica Iordanov will be named Minister of Environment later this week. After Iuliana Cantaragiu vacated the seat, the Ministry of Environment has been managed on an interim basis by Minister of Agriculture Vasile Bolea.
The new ministers will take an oath of office as swiftly as possible. Particular changes will also be made in the institutions managed by the Government, stated the Prime Minister.
