The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will offer €600,000 in technical assistance for the implementation of the Moldova Solid Waste Project. The Cabinet approved the ratification of the grant agreement between the Ministry of Environment and the EBRD on the financing of technical assistance, which was signed in Chisinau on December 20, 2023, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Environment said that, following the implementation of the project, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova will have access to high-quality (municipal) services in the field of solid waste management. The quantities of landfilled waste will be reduced and the territorial coverage of solid waste management services will increase in the regions where the planned intervention measures will be carried out.
The project will be implemented through the agency of the public institution National Office for the Implementation of Environmental Projects.
