About 560 general education institutions of the country use the electronic register. The data are accessible to students and teachers and also to parents, who will have real-time access to information about their children’s performance at school, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Education and Research said that the system includes data about the daily student performance and attendance (tests/grades, comments, absences), but also about the taught topics, the homework, connection links for remote learning, etc.
“The platform allows for more efficient communication between teachers, students and parents, facilitating the exchange of information. Teachers and principals can more easily manage student records and academic performance, reducing the workload and errors in managing paper data. The initiative is part of the education digitization plan,” said Minister of Education Dan Perciun.
In order to train teachers to use the Electronic Register Information System, the Ministry of Education will organize 14 online seminars during September 6-13. The seminars will be staged by the Center for Information and Communication Technologies in Education. More than 500 network administrators and 10,000 teachers are to be trained at them.
The Ministry of Education and Research encourages all institutions to implement the electronic register. A request can be submitted until September 12 to cancelaria@mec.gov.md.
