This year, Europe Day will be celebrated under the theme “Stronger Together”. The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova invites the citizens to visit the European Town in Chisinau on May 13 and in Leova on May 20, IPN reports.
“Friends, the European Union firmly expressed and showed in time, by concrete actions, its solidarity with the Republic of Moldova. The unity of the EU member states in this approach of solidarity has been unwavering. We ascertained a spirit of solidarity and unity here too, in this small, but beautiful country,” the Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova Jānis Mažeiks stated in his message on the occasion of Europe Day 2023.
The official noted that while in the neighboring country Ukraine, Russia continues to commit inconceivable atrocities, destroys towns and villages, kills peaceful people, the Moldovans showed unprecedented empathy and openness to share their homes and meals with the Ukrainian refugees.
“In this spirit – Strong Together – Europe Day is celebrated this year. Under the aegis of solidarity for good and the future, I invite you to visit the European Town that will be staged in Chisinau on May 13 and in Leova on May 20. And our surprise does not end here,” noted the diplomat.
