One more step was taken to build the Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau-Odessa highway – the corridor of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union. A cooperation agreement with the European Investment Bank was signed on Tuesday and through this the Facility for Eastern Partnership Investment in Connectivity will finance the prefeasibility and feasibility studies of the highway construction project, IPN reports.
The feasibility study will be completed by the end of 2025.
“We all want this project to be carried out in the shortest possible periods and the construction to start as soon as possible. We yet must be aware that such projects take time. Unfortunately, a lot of time was wasted. These studies had to be conducted many years ago. We’re catching up now. We will move as quickly as possible so that we pass the other stages the coming years: design, identification of financial resources, tendering and initiation of works,” said Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spînu.
