The heavy rains this morning have created risky situations in several localities in the Republic of Moldova. In some cases, even the intervention of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations teams was required. Firefighters and rescuers were mobilized to assist people trapped in cars, remove fallen trees, and clear flooded or impassable roads, reports IPN.
In the capital, rescuers intervened on Calea Ieșilor street, where two people were trapped in a car on a flooded section of road. The car was towed by the IGSU crew. In another case, on Aerodromului street, a tree knocked down by the wind was removed from the electric cables to prevent additional risks.
Interventions also took place outside the capital. At the entrance to the village of Mereșeni, Hâncești district, a fallen tree was cleared by firefighters. In the village of Drăsliceni, in the Criuleni district, another team towed a car with two people inside, which was stuck on a mud-covered road.
According to the data provided by the energy operators, by six o’clock in the morning, two localities in the Anenii Noi district – Delacău and Puhăceni, were left without electricity.
IGSU states that it continues to monitor the evolution of weather conditions and recommends that the population avoid traveling to the affected areas. In case of emergency, citizens are urged to call the 112 Service.
