The Government of Romania donated €800,000 for repairing the Theoretical Lyceum “Mihai Eminescu” based in Comrat, Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Cristian-Leon Ţurcanu informed through his Facebook page.
“I’m fully confident that the works on the new block of the lyceum, which is being built with generous financial support, of almost €800,000, from the Government of Romania, will be completed in the shortest period of time together with the allocation by the official Chisinau of the rest of the necessary funds,” the ambassador posted on his Facebook page.
In his message, Cristian-Leon Ţurcanu said that these young people chose to study in the Romanian language, which anchors them deeper in the European family. “I ascertained with great pleasure that almost 500 of the lyceum’s students come from Gagauz families that realized that their future is in the Romanian language, in Europe. Romania will continue to support the educational system on this bank of the Prut, with direct assistance, exchange of experience, scholarships and camps for young people who study in the Romanian language,” wrote the ambassador.
The diplomat noted that the library of the Romanian language lyceum in Comrat was offered valuable books for supplementing the existing stock of Romanian books. The present was made with the assistance of the Department for the Relationship with the Republic of Moldova.
