The chairman of the Action and Solidarity Party, Igor Grosu, said that the DA Platform is the only party from the “Impreuna” bloc that is considering the possibility of participating on the PAS list in the parliamentary elections this fall. The talks were initiated by PAS at the request of voters and, according to Igor Grosu, the ball is in the DA Platform’s court, IPN reports.
“We have had discussions over the years. It was in response to multiple requests from our sympathizers urging us to show openness. One component of the bloc flatly refused. The second component convened in a final meeting where the subject was put to a vote. The vote not to go along with us prevailed. The third component of the bloc is under discussion. The DA Platform is considering the option of going on the PAS list. In the Party of Change the decision was negative. It is their decision, we respect it”, said Igor Grosu during the program “Secretele Puterii” on JurnalTV.
The PAS leader said that the talks with the “Impreuna” bloc were initiated at the request of voters, who demanded the consolidation of pro-European forces. Colleagues remembered those experiences. But we convinced them that our upsets matter less now. We must overcome them. We received support within the faction and the National Political Bureau to try to coalesce some of the pro-European forces. Now the ball is in the DA Platform’s court”, said Igor Grosu, President of the Parliament.
The “Impreuna” Bloc was established in April 2024, declaring itself a pro-European political alliance. After the withdrawal of the Coalitiei pentru Unitate si Bunastare and the LOC party, the Platforma Demnitate și Adevar, the Partidul schimbarii and the Partidul Verde Ecologist remained in the bloc.
Parliamentary elections will be held on September 28. Officially, the election campaign starts 30 days before polling day.
