At the beginning of the new year, in the municipal registers for child records, there are 85 minors waiting to be taken into a family to grow up. Another 22 children are already at different stages of the adoption process, from preparing the paperwork to ongoing judicial procedures, reports IPN, referring to data presented by the General Directorate for Child Rights Protection in Chisinau.
According to the municipal direction, some of these children are part of sibling pairs or have special needs.
“The Chisinau City Hall reaffirms its position that every child deserves to grow up in a home full of love, safety and support, and adoption means more than a legal act – it means a new life, a new beginning”, is stated in a press release issued by the General Directorate for Child Rights Protection.
The municipal authorities encourage families considering adoption to take this step. The number of minors with adoptable status and who are waiting is updated monthly.
