Judge Oleg Melniciuc, who was convicted of unjust enrichment, was suspended from post until a definite court judgment is passed. Such a decision was taken by the Superior Council of Magistracy, IPN reports.
The issue was examined behind closed doors and the decision was made public as a result of deliberations.
In September 2021, Oleg Melniciuc was sentenced to seven years in jail by the Anenii Noi Court. He was also banned from holding posts or working in jurisprudence for a period of 15 years.
The judge was found guilty of intentionally including incomplete or false data in the property and personal interest statements in 2013-2017 and of possessing property whose value is much larger than his earnings. Oleg Melniciuc denies any wrongdoing.
