Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Lilia Dabija calls on the mayors to file applications to benefit from the funds of the national program “European Village Express” that was launched by President Maia Sandu. According to her, the maximum value of a project is 450,000 lei and the implementation period is of at most six months. “We didn’t stop here as we saw the citizens’ and the LPAs’ increased interest in this program. That’s why we came with another project – “European Village Express”. The distinctive features between “European Village” and “European Village Express”are the implementation period, the eligibility criteria and the value for which the LPAs can apply. The implementation period within the “European Village” is 12 -18 months, while within the “European Village Express” is of up to six months,” Lilia Dabija stated in the program “Day by Day” on Radio Moldova.
The minister said the procedure for registering projects for the contest within the “European Village Express” program was simplified and the applicants can prepare the files during a short period of time with a minimum set of documents.

The intervention areas include public utilities (projects to install public lighting systems), improvement and renovation of social infrastructure, rehabilitator of public buildings, augmentation of energy efficiency measures, building and reconstruction of sports facilities, rehabilitation of historic buildings. Each mayor’s office can propose only one project as we aim to ensure the participation of all the LPAs of the first level of the country. We want to together rehabilitate schools, kindergartens, community homes, houses of culture. I call on the mayors to benefit from this new program,” said the minister of infrastructure and regional development.
Owing to the “European Village” program, more than 20,000 persons obtained access to drinking water, while almost 34,000 enjoy public lighting systems, with 14 kindergartens, nine secondary schools, three lyceums and 18 cultural centers being renovated and equipped.
