The roadmap on the priorities in the Republic of Moldova – Romania cooperation will be signed on November 23, during President Maia Sandu’s official visit to Romania that is made on the invitation of her Romanian counterpart Klaus Werner Iohannis. There will also be signed the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Romania on the mutual recognition of scientific titles, diplomas and certificates, IPN reports, quoting the presidential press service.
The official welcoming ceremony at the Cotroceni Palace will be followed by discussions involving the delegations. Later, the two Presidents will give a joint news conference.
President Maia Sandu will have meetings with the interim Prime Minister of Romania Florin Cîțu, president of the Senate Anca Dana Dragu and interim president of the Chamber of Deputies Sorin Mihai Grindeanu.
On her visit to Bucharest, President Sandu will be accompanied by a team of Moldovan officials, namely Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Euroean Integration; Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development; Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan; Minister of Education Anatolie Topală; Moldova’s ambassador designate to Romania Victor Chirilă; secretary general of the presidential executive office Cristina Gherasimov, and adviser on public communication Sorina Ștefârță.
President Klaus Werner Iohannis paid an official visit to Chisinau at the invitation of President Maia Sandu on December 29, 2020, shortly after Maia Sandu won the presidential elections. It was the first official visit by a President of Romania after the visit made in February 2015, during the presidency of Nicolae Timofti.
