The Republic of Moldova’s Europeanagenda was discussed in Brussels, where Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gerasimov had a series of meetings with European officials. The sides discussed the negotiation process and the actions to be taken this year, IPN reports.
The Deputy Prime Minister met with Ilze Juhansone, Secretary-General of the European Commission, Therese Blanchet, Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union, and Michael Siebert, Managing General of the Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the European External Action Service.
Also, Moldova’s European agenda was discussed with Irena Moozová, Deputy Head of the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers, Simon Mordue, Chief Foreign Policy Adviser in the Office of the President of the European Council, and Skander Nasra, Diplomatic Adviser to the Prime Minister of Belgium – the country that also holds the rotating presidency of the Council.
Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gerasimov met with Ambassador Irena Andrassy, Permanent Representative of Croatia to the EU and a member of Croatia’s team for accession negotiations, and Drita Abdiu-Halili, Deputy Chief Negotiator and State Secretary for European Affairs of North Macedonia. The sides conferred on the methods of cooperation and the importance of borrowing good practices for accelerating the process of Moldova’s accession to the European Union.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s visit ended with a meeting with members of the Moldova-EU club, which includes active citizens of the Republic of Moldova who settled in Brussels. The discussions focused on ways in which they can support the country’s path of European integration.
