The National Army celebrates 33 years since its establishment. In a message addressed on this occasion, Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatyi said that the National Army, created a few days after the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Moldova, was and will remain a pillar of society, which over time has gone through a series of reforms and for which the peace and safety of the citizen has always been a priority, IPN reports.
The official noted that the National Army is about those who were the basis for the formation of the defense institution and those who, over 33 years, contributed to its development. Thanks to them, the National Army resisted and built an image and a name not only at the national level, but also abroad. The National Army is about the servicemembers who are on duty in military units, at training centers in the country, who know how to carry out their missions with seriousness and selflessness, in any circumstances, but also about the servicemen who are on missions, far from home, where, together with the contingents of other states, they contribute to the peacekeeping efforts. The dedication and professionalism of each of them do honor to the Republic of Moldova and prove that the country is a reliable partner.
Anatolie Nosatyi noted that the National Army is also about the young men and women who chose to study in the only military educational institution of the country. They are the future officers of the National Army, with ambition and new visions, who will offer their best for the prosperity of the institution. Likewise, the National Army is about military athletes, who, over time, have offered many reasons to be proud of their sports performances at national and international levels.
The minister expressed his gratitude to all the generations of former and current military and civilian employees of the institution for their dedication, courage, professionalism, responsibility and honor, as well as to their families who stand by them and unconditionally encourage them in all their efforts.
The National Army was created on September 3, 1991 based on a presidential decree signed by the first President Mircea Snegur.
