The 2023 mandatory health insurance funds law was adopted by Parliament after being given a final reading. The amount allocated for services intended for the compensation of medicines and devices was raised by about 268 million lei to over 1.32 billion lei, IPN reports.
The sum planned for hospital medical assistance will exceed 7 billion lei, up 775 million lei or 12.1% on 2022. This will enable to increase the volume of services provided as part of special programs (cataract surgery, heart surgery, etc.) and for covering a larger number of acute treated cases, chronic cases and rehabilitation services.
A sum of 2.849 billion lei was earmarked for primary medical assistance, almost 465 million lei or 19.5% more compared with the budget adopted for 2022.
Over 1.241 billion lei was planned for specialized ambulatory medical assistance, up about 241 million or 24.1%. A part of the money will go to cover dialysis services for Ukrainian refugees in accordance with the Partnership Agreement signed with the International Organization for Migration.
The amount allocated for pre-hospital emergency medical assistance is about 1.138 billion lei, by 25 million or 2.3% more than this year. The amount planned for high performance services will be approximately 294 million lei, an increase of over 34 million lei or 13.1% on 2022.
The mandatory health insurance premium in percentage form from the salary and other recompenses in 2023 will also be 9%.
The 2023 mandatory health insurance funds law provides for incomes and costs of about 14.139 billion lei each, up 15.1% on 2022.
