More than 180 applications were submitted to the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) for direct payments per kilogram of cow’s milk. The total value of the requested subsidies is 69 million lei, IPN reports.
Applications were accepted between March 4 and April 15. “The measure is part of a strategic approach meant to encourage and develop the activity of farms specialized in cow’s milk production,” said the institution.
So far, 105 applications out of those submitted have been authorized for payment, in a total amount of 49 million lei. The others are still under consideration.
The value of a direct payment per kilogram of cow’s milk is 3 lei.
