The Customs Service collected 27.84 billion lei into the state budget in nine months of this year, which is 74% of the annual budget projections, IPN reports.
The VAT represented the largest share in the structure of payments – 66.4% or over 18.4 billion lei. Over 7.5 billion lei or 27 percent of the amounts collected into the state budget came from import excise duties, and 1.7 billion lei or 6.3 percent – from customs duties.
Imported petroleum products accounted for 39% of the total levied excise duties (2.9 billion lei), and tobacco products – for 36.1% (2.7 billion lei). Imported means of transport brought 9.1% of the total excise duties levied (1.4 billion lei) into the state budget.
From the excise duties on imported beer, a sum of 85.03 million lei was accumulated, which is 1.1% of the total excise duties collected. The imported brandy, liqueur, cognac and other beverages brought 135 million lei into the budget, which is 1.8% of the total levied excise duties.
